WorkHoursKit is an independent website focused on browser-based calculators for work hours, time cards, pay estimates, shift schedules, staffing, coverage and workday planning. The site is designed for people who need to check the arithmetic behind a work record or planning assumption without creating an account or uploading a file.

Our purpose

Work-hour calculations often look simple until a shift crosses midnight, an unpaid break must be removed, a payroll system expects decimal hours, a rotating schedule has to be anchored to the correct cycle day, or continuous coverage has to be converted into FTE and whole-person staffing. WorkHoursKit turns those tasks into focused calculators with visible inputs, formulas, examples and limitations.

What WorkHoursKit publishes

The site publishes tools in five areas: time and attendance, pay and overtime, shift schedules, staffing and coverage, and workday planning. Each calculator is intended to answer one defined question. Related tools are linked when a result is better checked from another angle, such as comparing FTE with roster size or comparing a time-clock total with a time card.

How the calculators are built

Calculator logic is implemented in the site code and runs in the visitor's browser. Inputs are kept explicit so a calculator does not silently invent an overtime threshold, weekend pattern, premium rate, holiday list, roster anchor or staffing assumption. Where a result depends on a rule that varies by employer or jurisdiction, the relevant value is left adjustable and the page explains what should be verified outside the calculator.

Testing and review

WorkHoursKit uses representative expected-value tests, boundary cases, invalid-input checks and regression checks when calculator logic is created or changed. Time tools are checked for conditions such as midnight crossover and invalid durations. Pay tools are checked for rate and multiplier arithmetic. Schedule tools are checked against their stated repeating patterns. Staffing tools are checked for unit consistency and rounding behavior. Testing reduces the risk of errors but cannot prove every possible input, browser behavior or workplace rule.

Editorial responsibility

WorkHoursKit is responsible for the material it publishes. Digital and AI-assisted tools may be used to support drafting, coding, testing, formatting or research organization, but published calculator behavior, examples and explanatory text remain the responsibility of WorkHoursKit. Pages are not presented as official determinations from an employer, payroll provider, regulator or government agency.

Privacy by design

Calculator values are designed to be processed in the browser and are not intentionally sent to a WorkHoursKit database. Normal hosting, security, analytics, consent and advertising services may still process technical visit information as described in the Privacy Policy. Visitors should not enter passwords, identity documents, bank details, medical records or confidential employee data.

Important limitations

WorkHoursKit is not a law firm, payroll provider, tax adviser, accountant, financial adviser, safety authority or human-resources consultant. Employment law, collective agreements, contracts, awards, employer policies and operational requirements can produce a different result from a general calculator. Important payroll, legal, staffing or scheduling decisions should be checked against the applicable official source and approved records.
